Studio Technician (part-time role)
dBs Music is no ordinary school; we combine state-of-the-art facilities with unique learning environments and industry experienced tutors to support, inspire, challenge and enhance our students’ studies in music production, sound engineering and electronic music production & performance.
For nearing 20 years dBs Music has provided innovative methods of delivery quality music academia and practices to willing students in the UK. It's newly founded Berlin centre of operations was built with the intention of attracting a very open and innovative standard of student and staff body. It's been a fantastic time establishing ourselves and things are growing in wonderful ways. Because of this, we are expanding our technician team in 2015.
Our technician roles centre around studio technician work at the Funkhaus (Nalepastrasse) and at our main centre in Friedrichshain. Our studio facilities are essential to the successful delivery of our courses and need to be fully operational at all times, they also need to develop with the needs of the students and the ever-changing music industry.
Our technicians are passionate people, they love what they do and they want to share that knowledge and they want to get involved in every aspect of running education studios. Technicians are an important part of the team at dBs Berlin, helping to provide a friendly and supportive environment for all students and staff using our facilities.
About the job:
- You should be able to provide comprehensive support to staff and students where needed, in both analogue recording environments and DAW based music production environments
- In depth knowledge of modern analog and digital studio setups & maintenance of them
- Liaising with the education team on studio provision to support lessons / students bookable time
- Developing and implementing studio concepts and improvements
- Great troubleshooting skills
- Helping to develop the dBs Music facilities over holiday periods
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends & flexible hours
